The Sacred Heart Alumni Association was formed in 1961 through the combined efforts of Fr. Jesus Velasco SJ and our enthusiastic alumni. The association was approved by Fr. Michael X. Chu SJ, the Rector of SHS. The pioneering men who have guided it through the first seven years are Santiago Tanchan, Jr., Nono Teves Yu, Victoriano S. Go, Winston S. Chiong, Jesus Go, Benjamin Bordalba, and Peter Paul Du.
These dedicated individuals played a crucial role in shaping the association's early years, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the alumni. Moderators Fr. George V. Donohoe SJ and Fr. Arsenio Nunez SJ provided invaluable support and guidance, ensuring the association's continued growth and success. Their collective efforts have left a lasting legacy, paving the way for future generations of Sacred Heart alumni to stay connected and contribute to the school's rich heritage.
The goals of the Sacred Heart School Ateneo de Cebu Alumni Association are to: preserve and celebrate our heritage by upholding the values and traditions that inspire future generations; promote professional and personal growth through a variety of events and programs; encourage community engagement by motivating alumni to give back through meaningful initiatives; champion innovation and leadership by offering platforms for collaboration and expertise sharing; and foster lifelong connections by giving alumni opportunities to reconnect and build a supportive network.
To cultivate a vibrant, interconnected alumni community that honors our shared heritage while empowering each member to lead with integrity, innovate with purpose, and contribute meaningfully to society.
